EXHIBITION PROPOSAL

with the support of Gridspace.ca for A.R & Projections

moon_02.jpg

This exhibition is a tribute to Mother Nature, sacred places, and the local ancient beliefs, tales, and legends. These themes are portrayed in various mediums by a masked troubadour named Bastián de Luka.

Bastian de Luka is the artist's alter ego and a theatrical character who serves as a vehicle for ideas and values. He embodies the archetype of the ever-questioning child that resides within each of us, exploring the world.

Through this character, we take the audience on a journey to explore ancient tales of nature. The aim is to inspire a fresh perspective that encourages us to reconnect with the environment and foster the profound respect it deserves.

The mediums of this exhibition proposal are primarily:

* 16 Short Films *

*Panoramic and regular photographies*
*Video Installation(s)*
*Music and Nature Sounds*
*Augmented Reality Quote-Images*
*Immersive Experiences*

The Short Films, Music and Photos are created by the Bastián de Luka - the Music is Available on Spotify and all major Streaming Platforms.

Immersive installations would be created in collaboration with other artists or scenographers such as gridspace.ca

Wait, nobody knows.

Every tribe on Earth has its own story.

Some story took over,  but it doesn’t mean they are more true.

So here, this is what people believe."

Invite the Audience on a Journey through the world's sacred places and nature stories - 16 places are already documented.

An Interactive, Immersive, Playfull, Mindblowing Exhibition

On the Forgotten Roads, One Sacred Place & One Legend at a Time

My vision for this project is to create various seasons made of multiple episodes, each based on different regions of the world, showcasing diverse cultures and stories of nature. The first season "Amerindia" consists of twelve episodes set in twelve locations in the American South West and the second season "Mexicali" has already began in Mexico with three episodes. The project is documented through videos, photos, and text and is available in French, English, and Spanish.

The world is a tapestry of cultures, each with its own stories of creation and the origins of nature and humanity. In some cultures lies a profound respect for nature that has been lost in modern society. My series aims to revive these stories in a way that is accessible to both children and adults and fosters a reconnection with the sacred essence of nature.

I invite the audience to discover a new narrative where Nature could be weived back into their life, through the stories, deep meanings and teachings She nurtures.

The creation process underway is for the second season setting in Mexico and Guatemala, with a planned release in 2024. The third season is scheduled for 2025 in Northern Canada, followed by the fourth season in Northern South America. The fifth season will take place in central South America, and the sixth in South America. The seventh season will begin in Asia, covering Central Asia and South Asia. In the last years, the project will conclude in Africa. The goal is to release one season per year for the next 10 years.

Who ?

Bastián

Nomad Troubadour, Bridge, Mirror

He comes from the Orbit and has no Idea and record on how far nor how long was the journey to Earth. He landed, well...crashed on August 13, 2017 and found Polo, an old abandoned rusty Dodge 1991. Since then, driving on the forgotten and forbidden roads, he is looking for the sacred and sharing wisdom as a Kosmic Troubadour.

Bastián is a Masked Traveler. Nomad, Musician, Observer, Dancer & Spectator. He is "philosophically speaking" a Broker of ideas.  He believes in Everything and Nothing. He is peace, Open to all realities and Possibilities.

He is an Animist & He is the inner-child.

Bastián is everyone and everywhere.

It is said that he has the ubiquity gift and can live simultaneously in various places, delivering messages that empower the soul of humanity.

He always has his index pointed to the sky.

Why ?

Because he is always asking questions !

Massive Turquoise Stone around his neck

(found in Episode 3)

Long Stick with Knife, Second Lamp, Water & Compass that does not work so he can loose the North more easily.

When he touches a rock or a tree with his stick, he gets the stories of the place. When he touches someone, they start telling the truth.

- MIND -

Bastián

" I break, just as I'm doing right now, whatever others are too frightened to break even though they know the time has come. I do this just as I'm required to because I'm the Contrary, the Clown. I break up from the depths far below the soul only to turn straight away waiting, waiting so patiently, for the tides of eternity to change.

My dance is different from the others' and I have colours beyond belief. I have no interest at all in the rubbish people gather because I remember the treasures that they

lost. I say the secrets others wish would go away. When they talk I go silent, as the only words I can make out are the language of wind or birds... "

A BOOK OF LIFE,

Peter Kingsley

WHY ?

Bastián

" During the eternal moment before waking up from an almost fatal accident, my soul is in the Maya forest in Mexico with monkeys talking and telling me ancient stories from no man's Lands... Deserts, Canyons, Endless Valleys, Mountain Ranges, Forest… Stories of Tribes and Spirits, Snakes and Milky Ways.

Cruising on board of my own-built, all terrain spaceship music studio, home on wheel, I have spent the last  5 years driving on these forgotten and forbidden roads, from Nevada to Yucatan, looking for some kind of...eternal. I keep finding many ancient eternal beliefs, Creation Stories, that make me understand everything differently, everything. I sleep with the Coyotes…and Monkeys, and their shouts awake me. I am taking you on a new journey, dedicated to the kid in you, and to your own kids..."

The Puppeteer behind the Mask is French, Canadian and Mexican. He has worked 8 years as Documentary Photographer and Filmmaker and 25 years as a Visual Artist. He documented the life and struggle of  tribes like the Waoranis, Penans, Shuars, Kechwas, Mayas, Nahualts, Kygyzs, Wakhis, Bedouins, Rajasthanis. His images have won National Geographic, Applied Arts, Photo District News, 8 Lux prizes and one Lux Grand Prize in Quebec and have been published in the New York Times, National Geographic, BBC, CNN, My Modern Met, Smithsonian Magazine among others. The Globe and Mail put him on the cover of their Art section and did a full Artist Portrait. He worked for The Nature Conservancy, directed and shot a movie that was screened at the opening of the COP 21 in Paris. Arte Tv Channel wanted to give him his own TV show. His Pictures have been exhibited at the United Nations in NY, Arsenal Contemporary Montreal & Toronto.

And then, one day, the 13th of August 2017, flying his Paraglide above the Imbabura Volcano in Ecuador, he crashed and ...

Manifesto

I am a broker of ideas and concepts that keep me sane from the insane and believe Nature is the one to worship. Once you learn to discern Her voice humming in the background, telling her story over and over again, you’ll never stop being conscious of it. Wherever you go for the rest of your life, you’ll be tempted to say to the people around you, “how can you listen to this, and not recognize it for what it is? "
It's the idea that people living close to nature tend to be noble. It's seeing all those sunsets that does it. You can't watch a sunset and then go off and set fire to your neighbor's tepee.

Living close to nature is indispensable for our mental health.
