The Tales of the Kosmic Monkey is an original and evolving multimedia project created by artist, filmmaker and composer Bastián de Luka.
Blending live music, cinema, mythology and visual storytelling, the project invites audiences into a dreamlike journey through forgotten landscapes, sacred traditions, inner worlds and timeless questions.
Presented as an immersive live performance, the experience combines original films with a fully live musical score performed by Bastián de Luka alongside singer Pascale Caristo and guitarist Carreyó.
Music and imagery unfold in complete synchronization, creating a deeply emotional and cinematic experience where sound, story and visuals become one.
- The Tales of the Kosmic Monkey -
Written, filmed, edited and scored by Bastián de Luka, The Tales of the Kosmic Monkey is an award-winning short film series currently composed of 19 episodes, with new chapters continuously being created.
Filmed across Mexico and the Americas, the series explores the beliefs that unite us, the stories that shape us, and the mysteries that continue to inspire human imagination.
Blending documentary fragments, visual poetry, mythology and experimental storytelling, each episode offers a unique perspective on our relationship with nature, culture and the unseen.

The live show has been presented at festivals, theaters and cultural venues including:
Burning Man, Gardens of Babylon, Bahidorá, Crania, Nomade Tulum, Papaya Playa Project, Radio Tulum, Foro Hydra, Harmony Tulum, Cine Tonalá CDMX, Huerto Roma Verde, Haab CDMX and numerous film festivals, art theaters and community spaces.
Each performance is unique.
Combining live instrumentation, vocals, cinematic projections and improvisation, the artists guide audiences through a sensory journey that moves between contemplation, storytelling and celebration.

Panamanian guitarist and composer, Carreyó blends jazz, funk, psychedelic and Latin influences into a distinctive sound enriched through live looping and improvisation.

Who is Bastián de Luka ? He comes from the Orbit and has no Idea and record on how far nor how long was the journey to Earth. He landed, well...crashed on August 13, 2017 and found Polo, an old abandoned rusty Dodge 1991. Since then, driving on the forgotten and forbidden roads, he is looking for the sacred and sharing wisdom as a Kosmic Troubadour. Bastián is a Masked Traveler. Nomad, Musician, Observer, Dancer & Spectator. He is "philosophically speaking" a Broker of ideas. He believes in Everything and Nothing. He is peace, Open to all realities and Possibilities. He is an Animist & He is the inner-child. He always has his index pointed to the sky. Why? Because he is always asking questions ! - Outfit - Goggles with a stripe because he sees too much and it helps him focusing. HeadLamp with only RedLight Massive Turquoise Stone around his neck (found in Episode 3) Long Stick with Knife, Second Lamp, Water & Compass that does not work so he can loose the North more easily. When he touches a rock or a tree with his stick, he gets the stories of the place. When he touches someone, they start telling the truth.

The outdoor projection, during the night, of a beautiful ongoing web series called "The Tales of the Kosmic Monkey," which has received numerous awards at film festivals. The duration of the projection is 1 hour and 30 minutes and it's for children and adults.
The artist Bastian de Luka will be present to provide
an introduction before the projection and a closing act after it.
"The Tales of the Kosmic Monkey" is a series composed of 6-minute episodes, with a total of 16 so far, although the artist continues to produce new chapters.
This series is recognized for its philosophical depth, historical connections, and stunning visual quality. Many consider it the most beautiful project on YouTube.
By screening this series at your venue, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique universe full of adventures, reflections, and visual beauty. Each episode is a window into an imaginative and captivating world that stimulates the mind and sparks the imagination.
Additionally, as it is an outdoor projection during the night, a magical atmosphere is created that enhances the experience and allows viewers to fully immerse themselves in the narrative.
After all these activities, for those who wish to continue with the fun after the projection, the possibility of turning the space into a dance floor with Bastian de Luka as the DJ ensures a night full of rhythm and joy. Guests will be able to dance and enjoy the music until late into the night, creating unforgettable memories.
Bastián de Luka has been DJing since 2003, starting on Turntables, VYNILS playing funk afrobeats and electronic music. For the last 20 years he has been collecting the most amazing music in many genras.
